Down Association of Canada’s Board of Directors
Representatives from Active Member Companies serve without compensation on the Down Association of Canada’s Board of Directors. They contribute their time, skills and experience in working towards Downmark® mandates.
Elected representatives on the Board of Directors and Executive Officer positions are voted in by and from the Active Member Companies. All recommendations made by the board are subject to a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
DOWNMARK®, The Down Association of Canada, is a Not for Profit Organization. Becoming a member is voluntary.
Our Members are categorized by the nature of their involvement within the Down and Feather industry in Canada as defined in the Association By-Laws.
Our 3 Membership Categories:
An Active Member is any firm or corporation in good standing located in Canada, engaged in the Processing of down and/or waterfowl feather or in the Manufacture of products containing down and/or waterfowl feather. That firm or corporation must blow, sews closed and completes with labels with its own company information down and/or feather products in Canada. They must also meet all other criteria specified in our By-Laws.
An Affiliate Member is any firm, corporation, or association in good standing that either supports one or more of the mandates of the Down Association of Canada or is a supplier of raw materials in the manufacture of products containing down and/or waterfowl feather. They must also meet all other criteria specified in our By-Laws.
A Merchant Member is any individual, firm, corporation or association in good standing that buys and then resells finished manufactured products made by Active Members that bear one or more of our Association Certification Marks. They must also meet all other criteria specified in our By-Laws.
